CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.8.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.WHST.6-8.6 Use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing and present the relationships between information and ideas clearly and efficiently

Prompt:
You are going to write your own version of the fairy tale, “The Elves and The Shoemaker”. You must fracture this fairy tale by either, changing the characters, changing the era, or changing the place. You can not change the meaning of the fairy tale, but everything else is up for changing! You must use lots of details and your fairy tale must have a certain structure. You will be using a voice thread to record your fairy tale and drawing pictures to illustrate it. Remember, you can not be too creative!
Reflection:Creating the paper- easy, writing the prompt- a little more difficult, doing the voice thread- most difficult! Although it was fairly easy, it did take a lot of time. I learned that I am not as good with technology as I thought I was. I really enjoyed learning how to create pieces of writing without it having to be actual papers.I also learned that drawing was not my thing. I quickly learned how to create visual aids via the internet! Prompt writing is something that I have to work on too. I know that the more I do it, the better it gets. Voice thread could be really useful in my future classroom. This could be used in either my history or my english classroom. In english/ language arts, voice thread gives the students a different way to produce their writing from essays to fictional stories. In history students could use it to tell the accounts from people in history or to even talk about an event from history. Voice thread could be used to replace oral presentations in the classroom. Some students may not like speaking in front of a group, and voice thread gives them an option. I think that as an upcoming teacher, I need to be aware of all the new technology and be ready to introduce it to my students. Students are going to be more involved if technology is involved, so why not let them learn and use technology at the same time!
